Noise use

The source used here is the RC-20 generated noise.

It is then sent to the TimeSkew effect, where the comp knob is turned a bit up. This results in an OTT-like effect, which amplifies the whole frequency spectrum.

Meow Synth

This cute (& free!) plugin tends to replicate a cat's miaowing, which, in this case, brings a kind of goofy vibe. Then it's all about shaping the sound with the ADSR envelope and adding effects to taste!

Midi Arpeggiator

Sometimes, misclicking a button can be a nice thing! Here, I accidentally enabled the arpeggio function on my keyboard.

I started playing notes which led me to this somewhat rhythmic melody. I liked it and arranged it manually. Always nice when something unintended just works!

Foley Recording insight

Finally, I tried to add a more dramatic mood to the track by adding some sound effects. I ended up just keeping a rainy/bird ambiance that I recorded in Switzerland with my Zoom H4n Pro. Since I was close to the ground, the rain hitting the leaves can be heard clearly, which also kind of sounds like fire crackling! Funny how sounds can tell a completely other story when there's no visual context.
