Fmutate

Fmutate is an FX device built entirely within FL Studio Patcher, and therefore can only be used inside FL Studio.

It’s inspired by some of the core functionalities of FilterFreak2 by Soundtoys, a classic plugin we highly recommend purchasing.

Just like FilterFreak2, Fmutate features two filters working in parallel on separate portions of the sound, delivering unexpected and creative results.

Here’s how it’s structured:

• The selectors on the top left and right let you switch between 4 different filter types: low pass, high pass, band pass, and notch filter.
• The freq knob sets the active frequency of the selected filter, as well as the starting point for the modulation described below.
• The amount and mod rate knobs control an LFO that modulates the filter: amount adjusts the intensity, while mod rate sets the modulation speed.
• resonance controls the bandwidth of the filter.
• The stereo -  L/R switch in the center completely changes the behavior by splitting the signal into Left and Right channels and processing them independently through the two filters—perfect for generating wild stereo effects.
• Finally, the bottom module is inspired by the legendary Band Chaser preset. Activate it and use the slider to adjust the band width.
  

Fmutate doesn't replace the amazing FilterFreak2 by Soundtoys, but it recreates some of its core behaviors using native tools in FL Studio. If you can, consider purchasing the original — it's worth every cent.
